Buffalo Bus Tours - Frequently Asked
Questions
Why would I take your tour instead of
driving through the park on my own?
Our tour provides you with the opportunity
to learn from our interpretive local guides about park features, history, wildlife and
current park issues. Our guides are passionate about the park
and take every opportunity to learn new facts to pass on to our
guests. You will have more
opportunities to view wildlife and scenery as you will be able to pay
more attention to the views as opposed to the road and other drivers.
Our guides know where to stop for features
that may otherwise be missed, as well as, where to look for animals
during different times of the year.
Where do the tours start and at what time?
We will pick you up for your tour at any
West Yellowstone Motel or Campground. We start our pick-up
service at 8:00am. Our guides try to be in the park by 8:45am to
begin your tour. We are usually out of the park around 5:00pm.
What will I see on your tour?
Yellowstone contains more wildlife than anywhere in the lower 48 states and more geothermal wonders - geysers, hot springs, mud pots and steam vents - than anywhere in the world..
Our Lower Loop tour can include
Firehole Canyon, Fountain Paint Pots, the Grand Canyon of the
Yellowstone and famous Old Faithful Geyser. You will also
see historical landmarks and buildings, marking the passage of humans
in this region. Our Upper Loop
tour can include panoramic mountain vistas, the Grand Canyon of the
Yellowstone, Tower Fall, Norris Geyser Basin and the Mammoth Hot
Springs area with its mineral terraces and a visit to Old Fort
Yellowstone.
Do you offer half-day tours?
Due to the time required to see and do all
the park offers, we schedule only full-day tours with each loop taking
one full day. In the event you would prefer a later starting
time or would like to come out of the park early, we do offer custom
tours. What discounts do you
offer? We offer a $5.00 discount
for seniors 62 years and older. We also offer a
multi-day discount. When is your
summer season and is the park open all year?
Yellowstone National Park opens for motor vehicle travel around mid-April and closes early November. Park activities
are subject to these opening and closing dates and weather conditions.
The Park reopens for the winter season in mid-December. |
